In pole position at the top of the ballot is Steve Ryan for the Christian Democratic Party, the second time he’s drawn that spot.
He’s followed by sitting Liberal member Ann Sudmalis in second position, Greens candidate Carmel McCallum at number three and Labor’s Fiona Phillips at number four.
The ballot order will confer a slight donkey vote advantage to the CDP and the Liberal Party.
“It’s just the luck in the draw,” said Mrs Sudmalis, who was in Eurobodalla when the ballot took place, and did not place much weight on the advantage her number two spot is likely to yield.
“Some people say it does, some say it doesn’t. I say it’s just the luck of the draw.”
Her rival Fiona Phillips was equally relaxed about her number four spot.
“I’m not really worried about it,” she said.
Like Mrs Sudmalis, she was at the southern extremity of the electorate, delivering a an ALP to fund the Shoalcoast community legal service for $450,000 over the next three years.
The ballot was drawn in Warrawong.
