Bradley Ward and Dane McFarlane were awarded the Wollongong City Council Small Arts Grant in 2015 which enabled them to create “Beautiful Chaotic Nonsense”.
Ward wrote the final text, drawing from real life stories told to him by friends, family and the cast.
The inspiration came from a YouTube video the pair watched about one man’s growing bucket list.
“Sex, drugs, love, depression and dreadful Arnold Schwarzenegger impressions, Beautiful Chaotic Nonsense is an honest exploration of the pains and pleasures of growing up,” said Ward.
I stars Kirra McGoldrick, Troy McMullen, Stephen Wales and Kirstie Willoughby.
“We wanted to put on display every embarrassing story and untold secret that mark all of our lives, rather than all of the large generic events that you are expected to focus on” said Ward.
The production is the third full-length work for the creative partners, after “Hipster Apocalypse: A Zombie Cabaret” in 2014 and “Fracture” in 2015.
