The ‘Roos were never troubled by the visiting Milton-Ulladulla Bulldogs, cruising to a 40-16 victory, led by three tries to winger Andrew Clarke.
Following an ANZAC tribute before kick-off, the one-way traffic in the first half started early on by Jamberoo.
A grubber-kick by half Jono Dallas earned an early repeat set for the hosts, which led to Joe Rokoqo scoring the game’s first try.
Five minutes later, a bomb by Dallas landed in the hands of Clarke, who did a quick one-two with Dallas, to score his first try of the day.
Coelho converted and it was 12-nil after 10 minutes.
Minutes later, Clarke had his second after a backline play off a scrum.
The ‘Roos continued their high completion rate in the first half, which led to Rokoqo’s second.
The tries kept coming when hooker James Asquith put through a grubber-kick, which bounced in to the hands of James Gilmore. Coelho made it 28-nil following the kick.
The Dogs finally got on the board four minutes before the break.
Centre Blake Mackey stood up his opposite number, passed to his winger James Little, who got outside Jarrod Schodde to cross in the corner.
The Dogs closed the gap soon after the resumption when hooker Nick Goodman dived over from dummy-half.
But the ‘Roos hit back soon after through Coelho, who backed up inside Clarke to score under the sticks.
Clarke completed his hat-trick minutes later, following a slick off-load from Ben Wade.
With six minutes on the clock, the Dogs had their third try when Santino Battagliolo crossed.
In the final minute, the Bulldogs had a player sent off for dissent and Coelho made the score 40-16 as the final siren sounded.
Meanwhile, Port Kembla Blacks secured an upset 28–26 victory in the dying seconds over the Shellharbour City Sharks at Noel Mulligan Oval on Saturday.
After being down 24–6 at half-time, the Sharks scored 20 points in the second half.
