Kiama Power travelled to North Dalton Park to take on the ladder leaders Wollongong Lions in their Round 3 South Coast AFL clash on Saturday. The Power were keen to see if their gruelling pre-season would see an improvement and Saturday’s games would be a guide to see just how their season was going.

The Division 1 side knew it was going to be a tough day against the much bigger Lions outfit. The Power went out full of confidence and although not reflected in the final score, going down by 58 points, the Power were highly competitive against the Lions, giving them their biggest test for the season.
Josh Walton is slowly returning to form after a 12-month break and Scott Phillips playing his first game for the year impressed. Michael Williams, Jimmy Ryan, Jaiden Browne and Tom Williams also had strong games.
Early injuries to key players including forward Dan Herbert saw the Division 2 side on the back foot from the start. Showing true fighting spirit they fought the game out but were no match for the strong Lions outfit, and were beaten by 88 points.
