A 15-YEAR-OLD Nowra youth who pleaded guilty to throwing rocks at cars on the Shoalhaven River bridge last August has been placed on 12-months’ probation.

The youth appeared before Magistrate David Williams in Nowra Children’s Court on Thursday, pleading guilty to intentionally throw object at vehicle/vessel risk safety, maliciously destroy/damage property and having goods in custody suspected of being stolen.
The court heard a number of items were thrown and struck three vehicles, a Honda CRV, Holden Commodore and a Toyota Prado, crossing the southbound bridge between 9.30am and 9.45am on Saturday, August 15 last year.
A charge of aggravated depositing litter, after he allegedly threw an item into the Shoalhaven River, was withdrawn after caution.
The youth also pleaded guilty to steal from a person, taking $100 cash from a woman at Nowra on October 14, stealing $126 cash from a Nowra home on November 29 and breaking into a house in Wallace Street, Nowra on December 7 where he stole a number of items.
Magistrate Williams placed him on 12-months’ probation.
