The late Socceroo legend’s home town will be abuzz, as more than 70 teams and in excess of 750 players have registered.

In addition to the four existing divisions, an Over-50s Men’s division will also be added in 2016.
The men’s Over-35s tournament will begin on Friday at 8.30pm and conclude at midnight.
It will then resume on Saturday morning and finish about 6pm.
The men’s Over-45s and Over-50s and the two women’s divisions will commence on the Saturday morning and conclude on the Saturday afternoon/evening.
The Johnny Warren Memorial Cup serves as a fund-raiser for the Johnny Warren Football Foundation.
This year, the Johnny Warren Memorial Cup will be celebrating the formation of the Johnny Warren Community (#JWC).
Johnny’s nephew and cup event manager Jamie Warren said the Johnny Warren Community played a key role in continuing John’s football mission throughout Australia.
“It educates the younger generation about the history of the game and John’s passion for seeing football embraced in this country, where it was once derided as being just a game for ‘sheilas, wogs and poofters’, a second-class citizen in Australia’s proud sporting arena,” he said.
“The JWC also plays a key role in recognising the contribution of the game’s many hundreds and thousands of former coaches, players and volunteers and encourages opinion and debate, which are key ingredients to improving the football culture and intelligence in this country.
“We encourage all football lovers to ‘like’ and ‘share’ the Johnny Warren Community Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts.”
