In reply, Darren O'Connell (3-15) led the charge as wickets fell at regular intervals.
Despite being delicately poised at 9-89, the Rats eventually posted 103.
The Rail reached 1-19 in their second innings at stumps.
Meanwhile, first-innings points will be up for grabs this Saturday as Albion Park and Kiama resume their intriguing match-up at Keith Grey Oval.
Kiama batted first and eventually reached 160.
Ben King-Gee (51) and tail-ender Mitch Nevins (32) top-scored.
The Park's Andy Peters, Raheel Chaudry, Jack Bennett and Rob Monaghan bagged two wickets each.
In reply, the home side are 3-90, Jay Ferguson scoring 39.

The Kookaburras posted 225, opener and captain Mick Perry top-scoring with 58.
