Committee member Steve Dalton said they were looking for new members to build on the event's past success and help reduce the rate of cancer in the community.
The Kiama relay has raised more than $200,000 for cancer research, treatment and support during the past two years.
The 2013 event will probably take place on the first weekend of May.
"At the first meeting we'll be looking at role-definition," Mr Dalton said. "Enthusiasm and passion are the only skills we want."
Committee members can choose to co-ordinate logistics, entertainment and activities, team development, sponsorship, publicity, or organise the relay's Celebrate, Remember and Fight Back ceremonies.
Mr Dalton said the committee had enjoyed past contributions from Kiama High School students and encouraged more young people to become involved.
"The fight-back aspect is for young people - making a difference to their lifestyle," he said.
"It's a bit late for someone like me, but not for teenagers."
The first meeting will be held next Thursday, October 4 at The Pavilion, Kiama from 6pm.
