Batemans Bay and Eden have for some years had their own FADs deployed in summer months, but Narooma has had to do without for many years.
Narooma Sport and Game Fishing Club president Les Waldock in recent months has successfully lobbied for the return of the device with the FADS and Artificial Reefs Program within NSW Fisheries.
The location of the Narooma FAD has been finalised after significant negotiations with effected commercial fishers.
The location will be 36 13.170’S, 150 17.450’E, approximately 14km east of Wagonga Inlet, in a depth of around 125m.
The FAD will most likely to be deployed in mid-November.

This free service is to provide anglers with periodic updates relating to the deployment status of FADs, reported losses, replacements and removals at the end of the season.
Mr Waldock said the new FAD will attract species such as dolphinfish and add an extra element to the fishing out of Narooma.
