The natural rock formations of Kiama's Blowhole Point rock pool have been attracting tourists to Kiama since the 1880s.
However, it's not just tourists who enjoy the pool, which boasts sweeping views across to Bombo and north across the Illawarra.
The Kiama Ice Kubes winter swimming club's season starts in May and runs through until approximately NRL grand final day.
After meeting at the Kiama Olympic Baths pool at the opposite side of the harbour during their early years, the group has been meeting each Sunday at 10am and jumping in the ocean rock pool.
On Sunday, the group celebrated its 35-year reunion swim.
The group's 40-strong membership, which spans from ages eight to 80, are each assigned a nickname on the day of their first swim.
Long-time member Smurf joined in 1982.
"The thing about the Kubes is just having a swim on a Sunday morning; a swim, a soup and a beer," he said.
"It's not for everyone ... But a few hang around and stay with it.
"It's good how you have such a diverse group - we've got police, doctors, lawyers, plumbers, painters, trainers.
"You're always referred to as your nickname; you don't go by your real name.
"I joined through the surf club; because it was originally put together for surf clubbies to do stuff in the off-season."
The group also undertakes trips away, including swimming at Kangaroo Valley once a year.
"That's the tester - that's the one right in the middle of winter," Smurf said. "We swim in the river down there, and that is a sub-ten degree swim."
They also annually host other popular events such as FOK (Friend of Kube) Day, which can bring in new swimmers.
They also host the Tour de Kube, whereby they ride bikes to the Boneyard for a swim.
Members take turns each week to prepare a soup, and at the end of the year award the Soup of the Year honours.
Other awards include Chip of the Year (for the children) and Kube of the Year.
"We welcome all new swimmers, and it's a lot of fun," Smurf said.
