Forty-six clubs converged at Mooloolaba, Queensland for the Interstate Championships and the IRB Titles.
Racing in the Australian Titles took place over three days, with crews being required to qualify through two rounds, quarter-finals and semi-finals to advance to the final last month.
Kiama Downs fielded a strong team with the club making it to seven of the nine finals, an outstanding result.
The team took home four silver medals; Nathan Foster, Blair Joynson and Brad Honey claiming second place in the Men's Tube Race.
Nathan Foster, Troy Kirkby, Kate Whittaker and Kaitlin Isabella came away with second in the Mens Mass Rescue; Naida Guy, Kirsty Honey, Kaitlin Isabella, Chloe Backen, Pamela Burke and Nathan Foster came second in the Women's Teams Rescue and the team of Foster, Kirkby and Whittaker backed up to take silver in the Men's Rescue.
The pointscore awarded Kiama Downs with second place overall, behind a dominant North Burleigh side from Queensland.
This is the second year in a row that the team have claimed this place fighting it out with clubs from around Australia.
The outstanding result at the Australian Titles follows a successful year for the Kiama Downs team, winning the NSW IRB premiership after winning all three rounds and taking home gold in 10 of the 16 events.
The team claimed third place at the state titles held in Mollymook, behind the Caves Beach club.
Kiama Downs was well-represented with eight members of their team selected to represent NSW in the Interstate Championships against competitors from Queensland, Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia.
NSW finished third overall, one point behind Victoria.
