Residents can watch a free movie screening, do a circuit class, relax during kids’ storytime or dance to local musicians.
The theme of this year’s week, which runs in the first week of August, is 'Active All Areas'.
Events include a meet and greet with Kiama councillors and management at the Blue Diamond Brasserie on August 7 at 5pm.
‘‘It’s a unique opportunity, we’ve not done it before, for residents and ratepayers to come and meet the councillors in a social situation,’’ Kiama Mayor Brian Petschler said.
‘‘We might learn a lot, and hopefully we can explain why certain things are done certain ways in a casual, relaxed atmosphere.’’
There will also be free live music at the Old Fire Station Community Arts Centre and along Terralong Street on August 8 from 10am-1pm.
‘‘Local government is critically important to the wellbeing of the community, and it’s good to have a week in which we can promote what we do and let the community see what we do,’’ Cr Petschler said.
