That was the tagline as the Sydney Weekender program visited the Kiama and Shellharbour areas this week.

Channel Seven’s long-running travel show filmed in the region on Tuesday and Wednesday. The show’s host and former Australian cricketer Mike Whitney hosted segments at The Brooding Italian cafe and Illawarra Fly Tree Top Walk, and stayed at Jamberoo’s The Belltower.

On Wednesday, they filmed a Segway Tour at Killalea State Park, and also visited attractions such as The Blowhole. 

Producer Susan Elliott said the show had visited the region on a number of occasions throughout its two decade-plus tenure.

‘‘Every corner you come around, there’s another beautiful beach, another beautiful vista of scenery which is just stunning,’’ she said.

‘‘It just goes on and on - it’s beauty at every turn.

‘‘Mike has done Segways a lot over the years... But we’ve never done Segways on the sand on a beach, this is quite special.’’

She said the episode may air within the next three to four weeks. 

Whitney praised the ‘‘unbelievable, world-class’’ facilities such as the Illawarra Fly. 

‘‘After 21 years, you’d think I’d be getting bored... But it’s fabulous,’’ he said.

‘‘I’ll be going home to put the invoice in to work, and I say to myself, ‘I would have done all that for free’.

‘‘It’s just so beautiful - look at this, we’re like 90 minutes from Sydney, there’s no one here, it’s gorgeous.

‘‘I’ve had a great couple of days.

‘‘My sister has lived in Berry for 25 years, so I come through here a lot.

‘‘I know this area really well, and I’ve seen it develop in the past 20 years that I’ve been doing this show.’’

The ex-fast bowler also provided his predictions for the Ashes series in England. ‘‘I’m going with Glenn McGrath - five-nil,’’ he laughed.

‘‘I think we’ve definitely got the team to win; bit of a bummer that Ryan Harris finally succumbed to his knees.

‘‘In those conditions, he would have been a real bonus, but let’s not take anything away from young Josh (Hazlewood), Mitch Starc and Mitchell Johnson.

‘‘I think our side’s really well-balanced... I think we can win at least three Tests.

‘‘I’m saying three-blot, and if we really play well, we could win five-nil.’’
