Lake Illawarra’s Zach Stephenson and Billy Fleming have just dropped their latest single Can’t Have Them and their creative film is putting the region on the map featuring Kiama’s very own Bombo Quarry as the backdrop.
Adding some more local talent to the mix, Illawarra talent Dave Fox filmed the clip at the quarry in an attempt to ‘warp your sense of time, place and colour’.
Can’t Have Them was added to rotation on Triple J and FBi Radio as the band blew up around the country, selling out shows in Melbourne, Sydney and Wollongong.
But it is not just Australia, Hockey Dad just announced they debut EP has truly gone global, listed as number 77 on the CMJ College Radio Charts in North America along with big time bands such as Alabama Shakes, Courtney Barnett and My Morning Jacket.
Hockey Dad also charted in the Top 20 at numerous stations across North America including core stations in Philadelphia, PA, Austin, TX, Fresno, CA and many more.
Can’t Have Them was recorded and mixed by Wade Keighran (The Scare, Wolf and Cub) and is out now via Farmer and The Owl / Inertia before being released on vinyl as a AA side 7” in August.
