The Roo Theatre Company is looking for Dorothy, the Scarecrow, Tinman, Lion and witches - good and evil - for a 14-performance season.
Auditions will be held on Wednesday, September 26, Saturday, September 29 and Sunday, September 30.
The show will be directed by Daniel Stefanovski, musically directed by Lisa Baraldi, produced by Juran Jones and involve a 50-member cast.
Mr Jones said with the Wizard of Oz celebrating 75 years in 2014, Roo was keen to kick off celebrations nice and early.
"It is a big undertaking with a big cast, but the director is a fan of the show and it's one that everyone knows," he said.
There are two audition information sessions; Tuesday, September 18 from 7pm or Saturday, September 22 from 11am.
