Now in its sixth year, the expo has grown enormously from its humble beginnings, drawing thousands of people from up and down the coast.
"We try to have something new each year and the fact that crowds continue to flock to the day indicates the popularity of the event," co-ordinator David Ferne said of the event.
It runs from 9am to 3pm.
There will be various demonstrations from a range of emergency services, including two flyovers and a rescue drop into Kiama harbour by the Bendigo Bank Aerial Patrol.
The emergency services represented at the event will include NSW Mounted Police, NSW Police, NSW Ambulance Service, NSW Ambulance Rescue 26 helicopter, NSW Fire and Rescue, State Emergency Service, Rural Fire Service, St John Ambulance, NSW Marine Rescue and surf lifesaving clubs.
The Illawarra Pipe Band will be playing during the day. "For the kids there will be giveaways, a 'smoking house', which always proves popular, while there are other hands-on activities that they can enjoy during the day," Mr Ferne said.
"Entry is free and we would encourage everyone to have a fun day out."
