Organisers of the festival said they decided to "step things up" this year, off the back of their 2014 sell out festival and offer one of the biggest line-ups to ever assemble on the South Coast.
This includes some of Australia's biggest bands and a "hand-selected bill of local artists" playing right next to the sandy shores of North Wollongong Beach at Stuart Park.
Big acts include Saskwatch, Salmonella Dub Sound System (NZ), The Delta Riggs, Gang of Youths, The Pinheads, The Preatures, Ash Grunwald, Bahamas (Canada), Cloud Control, The Rubens, Russel.W. and The Five Islands, Shining Bird and The Smith Street Band.
Furthermore, festival "frothers" will have multiple days (Friday, October 2 and Saturday, October 3) and weekend camping as the cherry on the cake.
In addition to the musical lineup, the festival will feature two film screenings; the Tribeca award winning Jazz doco 'Keep On Keeping On' produced by Quincy Jones and Jack McCoys cult classic surf film 'Bunyip Dreaming' with a live performance of the newly reworked soundtrack by Russel. W.
And if that’s not enough other happenings include DJ's, "mind altering art installations", face melting projections, a giant birthday cake and a twilight food market curated by Foragers.
The Yours and Owls Music and Arts Festival Weekender is supported by Triple J and is also part of a diverse program of events known as Blender- that envisions "a world where there is no accepted starting point… and no end to the possibilities".
Festivities kick off on Friday, October 2 from 4pm with a "super chilled" vibe including music, food, art installations and outdoor cinema.
Saturday, October 3 is the main event featuring headline acts Bahamas (Canada), Cloud Control, The Delta Riggs, Gang of Youths, The Pinheads, The Preatures, The Rubens, Saskwatch and The Smith Street Band.
