FOUR Winds in Bermagui will host an awe-inspiring Queen’s Birthday weekend with performers from the highly acclaimed TaikOz drumming group and shakuhachi grand master Riley Lee.
Over the weekend TaikOz will present dramatic performances of festival drumming - the hallmark of their international reputation - and workshops.
In concert, TaikOz combine the visceral energy of the taiko (Japanese drums) and the ethereal sound of the bamboo shakuhachi (Japanese flute).
Beginners at the taiko workshop on June 7 will be stimulated and challenged as they learn the basics and work up a short piece of music.
Also not to be missed are two workshops with Riley - Breathe at 5pm on the Saturday, and Breathe and Shakuhachi Combined at 9am on June 7.
At Riley’s legendary workshops, learn how to breathe like a grand master, and improve strength and control of muscles that are pivotal to good health, vitality and wellbeing.
Everyone is invited to take part in one or a series of stimulating workshops over the weekend.
No musical training is required and everyone from 10 years of age is welcome.
Full details, including multiple activity/ticket packages, can be found on Four Winds website, www.fourwinds.
