The event includes teams from throughout NSW, who will travel to Jamberoo for two days of competition, across nine different rescue scenarios.
Teams are judged on their technical rescue skills, their ability to be innovative, teamwork and leadership skills.
The competition also provides a learning opportunity for teams.
The Kiama Unit team finished first within the Illawarra South Coast Region after a hard-fought competition at Mogo in March.
The NSW SES Kiama Unit provides the main rescue service for the Kiama municipality, which includes extricating people trapped in their vehicles, rescuing people from heights and depths, animal rescue and assisting NSW Ambulance with patients.
The NSW SES State Disaster Rescue Competition is held biannually and the winning team will travel to Canberra in September to represent NSW.
