Angels at Work descended upon the Links Golf Course, Shell Cove for the golf day which was developed by second year event management students from TAFE Illawarra and University of Wollongong Bachelor of Commerce.
This year, the students came together under the banner of True Events and helped to raise funds for the Leukaemia Foundation’s through Angels at Work.
Participating teams from across the Illawarra and surrounding regions played an 18-hole Ambrose event followed by a formal lunch with silent auctions and raffles.
Event management student Tamarah Clarke said it was an amazing opportunity to put theory into practice.
Steve Melchior, owner of Just Cruisin’ Harley Davidson Motorcycle Tours, was the event ambassador and said he had seen the effects of leukaemia first hand.
“Angels at Work is a local event, organised by local students and supported by locals – all to raise money for the needs of local blood cancer patients,” he said.
“This fund-raiser is a shining example of the generosity of this community and it’s wonderful to be a part of.”
