The Lions Book Shop has opened at Warilla Grove Shopping Centre with every dollar going back into the
Shellharbour region through the Community Caring Projects.
The store is run by Lions and Lionesses and president of the club Steven Sherwood said the store front will help the lions club reach a bigger audience and also raise much-needed funds.
“Any project we do from now on the money will go to them,” he said.
“Last year we raised money for Adam Regal House though a benefit night and we also get involved with Wings Over Illawarra.
“At the moment we are working on the Christmas project.”
The shop offers a variety of donated goods including children’s books, DVDs, CDs as well as other collected goods.
Mr Sherwood said it was also a good opportunity for people to meet with the local Lions Club and get involved in any projects.
“For the Lions it’s another way for the older members to work in the book shop and for younger members to do our barbecues and hopefully we will get some more volunteers on board,” he said.
“Its all about getting our name out there and being out in the community.”
The shop is at Shop 3B, near Bi-Lo, and is open Monday to Friday 10-3pm and Saturday 9-1pm.
