According to the NRMA, two out of every three car seats are not fitted properly.
Fatality Free Friday is an initiative of the Australian Road Safety Foundation which calls for road users to make a promise to themselves, their family, and friends to consciously drive safely and obey road rules.
Last year there were 43 crashes in the Kiama Local Government Area, with one fatality and 27 people injured.
This number was down from 2013 when Kiama experienced nine fatalities and 200 people injured on its roads.
Road users are also able to make their road safety pledge by visiting the www.fatalityfreefriday.com website.
