A determined Jets outfit smashed a hapless Port Kembla 48-4 at Bomaderry Sporting Complex on Sunday.
The day didn't start well for the visitors, who fumbled the ball on the kick, but the Jets couldn't take advantage of the early field position.
Former Jets and current St George Illawarra National Youth Competition player Ryan James made an immediate impact on his return. On the back of a penalty, James used his strength to get the ball away to Zac Kershaw, who reached over and slammed the ball on the line.
Winger Mark Brandon converted for 6-0.
Not long after, the Jets make a break down the left edge through centre Nathan Falzon.
A pass to Mark Brandon in space allowed the winger to step Port Kembla fullback Christian Kupenga to score underneath the posts. Brandon converted his own try to make in 12-nil.
James was again instrumental in the third try, running at the line and flicking it to hooker Kurt Quinlan.
Unfortunately, Brandon would be forced to leave the match with an ankle injury.
Just before half-time, James and Falzon made breaks through the Blacks' line. Before they had a chance to reset their defensive line, five-eighth Steve Brandon stepped through to score the Jets' fourth try.
James took over kicking duties and slotted the conversion, to give the Jets a 24-0 advantage at the break.
Tough defence on the first set of six by the Jets forced the Blacks back into their in-goal, earning a goal line drop-out.
Off the drop-out, the Jets asserted their dominance and extended the lead through Clinton Braddick, making it 30-nil.
The Blacks would finally have some joy when captain/coach Mark Simon bullets a cut-out pass to his flying centre Richard Pollard, who barged over to score.
This would be the only points the Blacks would score.
Joel Deaves would be the next to score, again off a ball from James. Deaves made it two tries in quick succession, when he found himself on the end of an off-load by prop Mick Blattner.
Steve Brandon and Kershaw continued their damaging combination on the right edge, seeing the centre burst through the line.
Forward Clinton Braddick would score his second four-pointer of the day off the following play.
The final try of the match was scored by Kershaw, after the siren.
The score ended 48-4, with the Jets hoping to build on this win against Albion Park on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Berry Magpies suffered their third straight defeat to start the 2015 season, falling 34-4 to Kiama on Thursday night at Berry Showground.
