Club general manager Peter Wright said unprecedented crowds at the Anzac Dawn Service transformed into a record amount of money raised for Legacy.
"This is an annual fundraiser where we make a donation of funds for Legacy, with our directors doing the cooking, our suppliers donating the food and one of our directors, Red Rooster's Steve Willis, arranged for five of his staff to come in and assist with service," Mr Wright said.
"Our courtesy bus picked up people from the dawn service at the lighthouse, while diners made a gold coin donation and all-in-all we served in the vicinity of 500 meals, which also shows the support we received from the community."
Legacy Illawarra honorary secretary Les Green said the donation would go toward war widows.
"We help support around 800 war widows in the Illawarra and South Coast between Helensburgh and Gerringong."
