The Kiama team went through the junior competition unbeaten, but had to survive a thrilling final against Highlands at Shoalhaven Heads, with captain Darcy Bond breaking a two-all tie with a win on the second extra hole.
"Yeah, I had a few chances to wrap up the win earlier," Bond said with a grin.
"My putt lipped out on the 17th hole and was one-up going into the 18th, but sliced my drive into the trees then had a 25-foot putt on the last to win on the 18th.
"I also lipped out on the 19th, so was thrilled to finally wrap up the win on the 20th hole."
Coach Shaun O'Toole said the key to the team's success was they had gelled.
"We didn't even have enough junior players to field a team two years ago and struggled for a team last year, but with the assistance of junior co-ordinator Elle Sandak, the junior program has really taken off.
"I really can't speak highly enough of the group of kids we have - there really isn't a bad one among them."
Elle Sandak said she was pleased to take over the JPO role.
"I wasn't really doing much at the time and jumped at the chance to work with the kids," she said.
"I organise them, manage the junior pennant team and oversee the junior program at the club as well as taking kids to tournaments."
O'Toole said the club now has 76 juniors - an amazing turnaround over a two-year period.
"We had probably the biggest turnout at our Junior Championship of any club, with between 80 and 90 starters, and the next part of the program is to get into schools and encourage kids from six to 10 to try golf," he said.
"We are finding that the increased number of juniors is having a snowball effect with those juniors bringing their parents along.
"Apart from winning the junior pennant we have also won the B and C-Grade pennant this year and the ladies are also still in with a chance, so it has been an amazing year for the club."
The junior team will now take on Bega in the regional finals.
A win there will enable them to take part in the state finals in Newcastle.
