She is also a "bit scared" as the realisation hits that television viewers will soon see her biggest acting gig to date.
The Lake Illawarra-based actor has a proven career in film, television and theatre, but "nothing bigger" than her latest role in six-part series 8MMM Aboriginal Radio.
A new "black comedy making all the white noises" is how critics describe the ABC1 show starting later this month.
Set in Alice Springs, the 8MMM team airs the day-to-day preoccupations of the town and its surrounds.
But, like most indigenous organisations, it's run by whitefellas who fall into one of three categories - missionaries, mercenaries or misfits - the three Ms working at 8MMM.
Crombie, who has called Lake Illawarra home for the past six months, plays ditzy receptionist Milly.
She joked she didn't have to reach that far into her mixed bag of tricks to play Milly, who is far more interested in manicures, make-up and partying than doing work.
"I definitely have my share of Milly in my life," Crombie said.
"To be able to go back and play Milly was a lot of fun.
"I also loved getting the opportunity to be dry and funny."
Crombie not only gets to act in 8MMM, but two of her original songs feature.
"I can't wait for it to hit the screens," she says.
"I'm pretty excited that two of my songs feature.
"It's a pretty big deal that my music is also being promoted in the show.
8MMM Aboriginal Radio screens every Wednesday at 9.30pm on ABC 1.
The first episode of the six-part series will screen on April 29.
