The Lions went home with a 30-24 win on Sunday.
The Gorillas ran to a 12-6 lead after 20 minutes before the Lions clicked into gear and raced to a 24-12 lead at the break.
The scores were 24-all after 55 minutes before the Lions clinched the win with a try with 15 minutes to go, the Lions holding on to keep their unbeaten start to the season intact.
The Gorillas started the stronger when hooker Ryan Hodgson darted over from dummy-half and Chad Lisch converted, before Lions hooker Nathan Ford finished off good backing up and Joel Roberts converted to tie the scores.
The Gorillas' Nick Nikitaras scored from close range and Lisch converted for 12-6.
The Lions went on an 18-point blitz, Ford making it eight tries for the season. Swift ball movement gave winger Joel Doosey a clear run to the line, then replacement centre Reuben Garrick sprinted away before kicking ahead for Michael Brown to touch down.
However, the Gorillas lifted the intensity upon the resumption.
Winger Nathan Gallestegui finished off a move to score in the corner and almost from the kick-off lock Mark Walsh burst through and found speedster Lisch in support.
A Lisch penalty levelled the scores at 24-all.
However, individual class from Lions five-eighth Pat Cronin, who slipped a one-handed pass to the ever-present Rixon Russell sealed the win.
Albion Park-Oak Flats Eagles scored their second victory of 2015 in a plucky come-from-behind 18-16 win over Jamberoo Superoos at Centenary Field on Saturday.
In a see-sawing game played on a heavy ground and steady rain in the second half, the home side looked down and out after Jamberoo broke a 10-all half-time deadlock to lead 16-10, but came home strongly to claim the win.
With less than 10 minutes remaining, horrible luck for Jamberoo winger Kyle Stokes turned the game in the home side's favour.
A clever final tackle kick into the wettest part of the ground forced Stokes to change direction to field the kick and slip: broken leg. It forced Jamberoo to make the ball dead in-goal.
Play resumed and the Eagles switched straight back to the 'Roos re-jigged right-side defence and a great pass from Arblaster allowed Harley Ryan to grab his double.
A hat-trick to first grade debutant Jai Field spearheaded Shellharbour City's 34-14 victory over Milton-Ulladulla.
During a match played amid persistent rain on Saturday evening at Ron Costello Oval, the Sharks maintained their unbeaten record this season.
Field also kicked five goals for the home team, who were minus their regular halves combination.
Shellharbour opened the scoring in the fourth minute via Kurt Field's fancy footwork.
Sharks errors afforded Milton golden field position, and Bulldogs skipper Adam Stone capitalised to reduce the deficit to two points.
The visitors surprisingly snagged the lead when Jason Wells strolled over.
However, the home outfit rolled downfield and Ian Catania touched down for a simple four-pointer, then Josh Cordoba barged over to make it 16-8.
Jai Field nabbed his first try in the top grade, then converted to send the Sharks into the sheds ahead by 22-8.
The steady rainfall continued, but wily veteran Stone kept the Bulldogs in the contest, the Shellharbour defence buying what he was selling when he dummied his way over.
Shortly following the hour-mark, Milton peppered the opposition goal-line; camped in the opposition 20-metre zone for so long they ought to have packed a tent.
The Sharks crucially repelled the repeated raids, and a further pair of Jai Field tries inside the final 10 minutes sealed the victory.
The matches between Nowra-Bomaderry and Port Kembla, as well as Berry and Kiama were postponed due to inclement weather.
