On Saturday, April 18 an 18-year-old Warilla man was at his home when a 17-year-old male, who was known to him, began yelling at him from outside his home.
The victim opened the front door where he was confronted by the 17-year-old who allegedly lunged forward and began to hit the man in the face with a hammer.
Police reported that the 17-year-old repeatedly hit the victim with the hammer causing serious injury including a broken nose, lacerations to his face and upper lip and a fracture to his cheekbone.
The young person responsible was yesterday charged with Cause Grievous Bodily Harm with Intent, Armed with Intent, Affray and AOABH and will appear before the Port Kembla Children’s Court on April 27.
