National Youth Week is the largest celebration of young people in Australia and took place from April 10-19.
With several events to choose from, young people were invited to take part in SENTRAL Youth Service's (a service of Kiama council) celebrations.
Events included a free trip to Ulladulla Funland to play laser tag; nine-hole mini golf at a transformed Kiama Library; SENTRAL Fitness, a free group personal training session; Kiama's Young Entrepreneurs Program, which gives participants an insight into how to set up and operate a small business; and an Introduction to Barista Training.
Also, those who couldn't make it to the Youth Centre had it come to them instead on Wednesday afternoon.
Kiama youth workers loaded up their car and made their way to Jamberoo Skate Park for a "Pop Up Youthie".
Youth worker Dylan Powell said it had been a productive week of engaging the municipality's young people.
He said they conducted a Pop Up Youthie each Wednesday at a different location throughout the area.
"The idea is just to promote the service really," he said of these weekly events.
"Just to get out there among the community, and try and help support, and be productive within our area.
"Try to get kids to know that it's there too, create some awareness for our Youth Centre as well.
"Just engaging in the community and having them know what services are around.
"The idea is that we come to them."
Mr Powell said Youth Week events were typically popular in Kiama, as workers engaged young people on their level.
"Some things get more crowded than others, depending on the activity, on what the kids do, on what sport is on," he said.
"Generally we get a pretty good turnout.
"It's just good for exposure for youth, to get them basically involved within the community.
"It's just good to get the kids involved as much as we can, and see them happy and smiling."
Jamberoo's Brayden Jarrold, 20, said he enjoyed taking part in previous associated skate competitions.
