Ride Around the Lake is an annual charity cycle with the aim to minimise the more than 1200 homeless youth in the Illawarra.
The 40-kilometre lap around Lake Illawarra has been running since 2009.
It raises money for the Lighthouse Youth Initiative (LYI), a program that assists the Illawarra’s homeless youth.
Ride Around the Lake starts from Kanahooka Lakeside Park and will include escorts, traffic controls for a safe ride plus finish line entertainment, stalls and kids' activities.
The event runs from 7.30am to 9am on Saturday, May 16.
The official launch was held at Dagwood Wollongong on Friday, April 17.
