Exhibition organiser and Art Studio @ Kiama teacher Wanda Grein said the theme was "Explore your creative side", and would raise funds for the Starlight Children's Foundation.
The exhibition will continue until Monday, September 10.
Entry will be a gold coin donation and part of the proceeds from any paintings sold will go to the children's found-ation, which helps to lift the spirits of seriously ill or hospitalised children during their treatment and ease their families' stress.
It is a cause close to Ms Grein's heart after a former student passed away at Westmead Children's Hospital.
"He loved art and singing, but he never got the chance," said Ms Grein.
The exhibition will feature paintings, sculptures and manipulated photography from students aged five to 75. Ms Grein said the exhibition was also a chance to encourage others to give it a go.
"Anyone can do art," she said.
She will also run some workshops during the week - adult workshops on clay sculptures will cost $25, while children's workshops making polymer clay dolls or puppets will cost $20, including light refreshments.
Bookings are essential - call Ms Grein on 4233 2297 or 0422 029 084.
The exhibition opening is tonight from 5.30pm to 7.30pm.
