Kiama’s entry in the Wool Article/Garment State Competition won first prize at the regional level, and a place in the state final at the Sydney Royal.
The Kiama Show’s winning entry, a collaborative effort of Gerringong resident Ingrid Wass, as well as Kiama Downs’ Barbara Wyles and her daughter Melinda Binkins, won the state final.
Their class entails entering three different types of wool articles and/or garments.
The whole article and/or garment must be constructed of, and contain a minimum of 80per cent wool.
An exhibit in this competition may consist of the work of one individual, a group of individuals, or an organisation.
The winner was revealed on Thursday.
The trio has previously tasted success in this category, winning the state final in 2011 and 2013.
This year, their collaboration includes a piece of weaving (Mrs Wass), piece of felt (Ms Binkins) and knitting (Mrs Wyles).
Mrs Wyles and her daughter also entered other knitting
and spinning items in the show.
Mrs Wyles won both a first and second prize individually.
