Kiama's big community car boot sale will take place on Saturday, March 28.
Kiama council will host Second Hand Saturday at School Flat, Black Beach from 8am-12 noon.
Second Hand Saturday gives residents the chance to sell, trade or give away their unwanted items.
One of the event's purposes is reducing the amount of clean-up material going to landfill.
Josephine St John, the council's waste management officer, said Second Hand Saturday had been running since 2008.
"Already we have 80 cars booked in; we average about 105-120 cars," she said.
"So with figures like that we're expecting a bumper event."
"It's purely for second hand goods only, pre-loved goods only, no craft items this is not a craft market.
"We're not here for commercial retailers either.".
Mrs St John said council runs Second Hand Saturday twice each year, and have a group of not-for-profit organisations they assist.
"Often we ask any of those co-hosts to use this opportunity with Second Hand Saturday to promote any other programs that they're involved in," she said.
For this event, they have also incorporated Kiama Rotary Club's project Bundled with Love, where items are added to bundles that are sent to Papua New Guinea.
Co-hosts of the event Kiama Rotary will receive all the gate takings generated from a gold coin donation.
Items such as shoe boxes, school supplies, old towels in usable condition, hard-sided spectacle cases and old glasses, sewing items, fabric to make bags, bunny rugs and newborn items are welcome.
Bundled with Love initiatives include the collection of birthing kits (to assist mothers giving birth in remote villages), female comfort kits (providing hygiene products), sewing kits and pre-school boxes (a package of school supplies assembled for young children).

Rotary will also be having an extra bucket collection focused on the Vanuatu support.
