"It is estimated in the capital Vila that up to 90 per cent of buildings have been damaged but what is more disturbing is that the whole Island village of Tanna has been flattened," Pastor Shane Cook said. "We have been working with a team of people to assist with getting food and water to them, but what is going to be their biggest need will be building materials.

"Over the next 12 weeks we will be collecting building material from businesses and community members and then sending these materials via a shipping container to Vila to be distributed to the people in Tanna. The biggest need is roofing sheets, hand tools, power tools, generators, electrical leads, lighting, screws and nails, wheel barrows, doors and any other materials you may wish to donate - no wood is required.

"You can drop supplies off at Shellharbour Community Church, 500 Shellharbour Road, next to the 7/11, from Tuesday to Friday 9am till 4pm, while for bulkier items call 0412 556 085 to arrange delivery to the storage area."
