Mrs Williams joined the club six months ago after attending a course in animation, photography, film and writing at North Wollongong TAFE.
“I just fell in love with photography – I didn’t even have a camera when I started the course, but there was just something that I loved about it and I can honestly say that I am hooked,” she said.
“The next step was to join the Kiama-Shellharbour Camera Club and here I am just months later as co-ordinator of their bi-annual exhibition.
“This is my second exhibition – last year I came down to help, but sales had been so good that the organisers sent me home to grab a couple of photos of my own to fill some gaps.”
While she has done some landscape photos, she said she just loves photographing birds.
“I’m right into bird photography – it is so interesting and while it can also be frustrating when you have the perfect shot lines up and the bird takes off – it is also rewarding when you do snap the perfect shot.”
The camera club was originally formed in 1964 and has a steady membership, holding two exhibitions each year.
The exhibition will be open from Tuesday, March 31, to Monday, April 6, from 10am to 5pm and will stay open last on Saturday, April 4.
