After previously raising almost $300,000 throughout the event’s history, the relay returned to the showground on Saturday and Sunday, to raise money for the Cancer Council.
Committee chairperson Tracey Jansen said although funds were still being collated, they were hopeful of raising about $100,000.
Mrs Jansen said participants enjoyed a great community event, which would now continue to grow.
‘‘It showed the support of the Shellharbour City community, how giving they are, and how cancer has touched all,’’ she said.
