The Perth comedian had a quick chat with Fairfax Media shortly after his elimination on Wednesday.

You're on the other side of the world! Are you ready to come home?

It's such a long way from home and I've been here for such a long time. It reached a point there where I started calling the camp home and that's a sad day when you start doing that.

While at camp, did you ever get a sense of how popular you were with the public?

I had no idea, that's the scary thing, you have no idea. I'm a very warts and all type of person so I was trusting my gut a lot of the time and hoping that people liked what I was doing.

I do have a little bone to pick with you – you told me a fib, that you weren't going into the jungle!

(laughs) I was put under a lot of pressure! There was only two ways I could go, I did feel bad and then I called my mother up and she said I can send her an email if you like during the premiere.

It's all good, I saw your Facebook post and forgave you. So, who did you bond with over there? Have you made any lasting friendships?

Of course! Chrissie [Swan] and Barry [Hall] are obvious ones, I got on very well with them. But also people like Lauren Brandt, Laura Dundovic, I actually got on better than people think with Merv [Hughes].

There were some great people in there, a lot of love, for the most part everyone was awesome. Barry, Chrissie and I have lunch reservations for next Saturday so I think it will be an ongoing friendship.

Have you had the chance to chat to your family and friends yet?

I have, I've spoken to my mum briefly and I've spoken to my boyfriend. It's been very hectic getting out of here and trying to stick to schedule, but I can't wait to get back to Australia so I can talk to people properly.

There were a lot of crazy stunts during the show – is there anything you would do again?

The high wire that we did a few days ago, the bungee jump was awesome. I did the challenges every time, the gross ones, the physical ones, but I don't need to eat cow's blood ever again in my life.

I did a trial with Barry where we had to hold hands and walk across a high wire which was near-on impossible. A few of them were hard but for the most part they were fun.

Would you do I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here again if you had the chance?

I probably would. Had you asked me that question after five weeks when I wanted to walk out. if you told me I would have stayed there after five weeks, I would have laughed in your face. Now that I'm here it was honestly one of the most awesome experiences of my life. It all feels so surreal and I don't know when it's going to sink in, I think it'll take a while.

I've had a few coffees because that's what I was craving most.
