Teams continue to return year after year and nominate sides in December for the largest one-day senior sevens tournament in Australia and largest pool of prize money at $25,000.
The 2015 tournament, the 43rd annual event, will feature a range of changes for the participants.
However, spectators will continue to see the same high quality of sevens rugby that has seen the skill level go as high as a Will Genia box kick.
The country sides are in for a real treat as they will only meet fellow country teams.
The seven minutes each way and the minimum of three games may upset a few folks, as it will cut into their after-game activities.
The Country Cup tip is a win to Kiama, with the Jindabyne Bush Pigs to give it a real shake.
The women's Vase will again attract plenty of attention, as all the participants are generally in representative sides and this will be the final hit-out before the national championships the following week at Narrabeen.
The Dharawal Trophy unfortunately didn't receive enough nominations, so it was decided to make it the Bowl competition for additional sides not wanting to play in the main draw.
Camden or Shoalhaven should take the honours, however with one spot still up for grabs former Kiama players have put together the Boanyo Bulls to give all a run for their money.
Unfortunately seven minutes each way is probably four minutes too long for the Bulls.
The Kiama Rugby Sevens Trophy has the top 16 teams.
The winner of each group will play a semi and the winners to play in the final.
Hornsby and Easts ACT look like early favourites.
Losers of the semis play for the Plate prize.
The winners of the trophy walk away with $10,000.
HMAS Albatross Squadron 723 will be delivering the trophies at 4pm.
The Grenfell Panthers rugby club have been booked for 4.30pm for their annual 50-metre sprint.
So with the weather looking good and the surf likely to behave itself, things are all in place for a great tournament.
The draw for the day is available on the kiamarugby.com website.
