Kiama was on its best behaviour last August, looking stunning for the filming of a new Channel Seven program.
After the success of 2014’s TV movie The Killing Field, Rebecca Gibney returns to the screen as Detective Sergeant Eve Winter in Seven’s new series Winter.
Eve and her task force must solve the chilling murder of 23-year old mother Karly ‘‘at a hauntingly beautiful fishing town south of Sydney’’.
Peter O’Brien will reprise his role as Detective Sergeant Lachlan McKenzie.
Enter Federal policeman Jake Harris (Matt Nable) who isn’t keen to share his case; or star witness Indiana, but Eve’s instincts tell her to dig deeper.
Meanwhile, Lachlan is running a parallel investigation into his own cold case, another murder in the same costal town eight years ago.
Between the picturesque backdrop of the South Coast and the busy city suburb of Kings Cross, Eve has to juggle her personal life, professional life and the competing interests of the case.
Filming for the series took place in the Kiama Town Centre, Kiama Harbour and Blowhole Point.
Rose Valley Florist was commissioned to provide flowers for a ‘funeral’ at the Christ Church Anglican, Kiama.
“Kiama is such a beautiful location and the people were so incredibly welcoming and open,’’ Gibney said.
‘‘It’s a gem of a spot.”
She also spoke highly of Kiama during an appearance on ABC Radio in Melbourne.
Winter airs Wednesday at 9pm.
The critically acclaimed The Killing Field was watched by more than 1.8 million people and won its timeslot when it aired on Channel Seven in May.
