Released every 12 to 18 months, the guide has become an important tool in promoting the region and will be distributed across New South Wales.
‘‘The tourism guide is one of our primary marketing tools for the area. It’s distributed to tourism information centres across the state and also to a lot of the attractions in the Shellharbour area,’’ Tourism Shellharbour manager Diane Johnston said.
‘‘The guide promotes the numerous attractions we have in the area. A lot of those are unique and we’ve got a lot of great imagery of those in the guide.’’
Ms Johnston said the region was again popular with tourists over Christmas and New Year.
‘‘Tourism has become a really vital part of the Shellharbour economy. We put it at about $86million that it brings in each year,’’ she said.
‘‘We had some great weather so far this year, which is always a positive.
‘‘So far we’ve had a very successful season. Over the holiday period I think just about all the accommodation was all booked out, which is always good to see.’’
