KIAMA Tennis Club players Bob Morgan and David Graham have returned from the Australian Seniors Tennis Championships in Canberra as Australian pairs 130+ year champions.

Players totalling 295, aged 35 to 90 and including participants from Japan, Canada, USA and New Zealand enjoyed the new facilities at the ACT Tennis centre at Lyneham, where $11 million dollars has been pumped into the venue to bring it into line as a world class facility.
"We went through to win the title and after performing well in the round-robin tournament, with a win over a solid pair from Victoria and then defeated Ian Worland (Orange) and John Greenup (Canberra) in a tight match to clinch the title," Morgan said.
Morgan, 71, is president of the Kiama Tennis Club and started playing tennis at Drummoyne Boys High school with Bill Bowrey, who later went on to greatness, winning the Australian singles championships in 1968.
He a member of the inter-district team which reached the final of the Life Members Cup in 2014.
Graham, 63, who now resides in Albion Park, played the Australian Seniors circuit for eight years until two knee operations slowed him down in 2012. In 2007 David [with Tony Bray from Woonona] reached the final of the 50 men's doubles in Antalya, Turkey. In 2009 he made the final of the 55 men's doubles in the British Championships at Bournemouth, England.
David also played in the world senior championships in 2009 in Majorca, Spain.
The pair will now travel to Melbourne to play in the Oceania Championships at Kooyong in early March.
Morgan said the Kiama Tennis Club is proud to be catering for players of all ages with their regular social competitions.
"We have around 320 members, but can always do with more," he said. "We have a women's social competition on Monday, men's social on Tuesday, mixed social on Wednesday, while we encourage families to come along on Sunday afternoon for the mixed social competition.
