When I reflect on the Kiama Show, what it means to the community and what it has achieved, I am amazed. Our local show has continued for 167 years and has survived a depression, wars and many other hardships.
With the Centenary of ANZAC in 2015 the Kiama Show Society has taken time to reflect on the First World War and its impact. The Kiama showground was taken over by the Department of Defence and used as a training camp. This period of history is remembered on our schedule cover and honoured with support from the local RSL through the addition of some special classes in our pavilion.
Recently our Kiama Show was awarded the South Coast Tourism gold award for excellence as a Tourist Event – much deserved recognition for the Kiama Show Society, its members, volunteers, organisations, businesses, sponsors, exhibitors, competitors and spectators who support our show.
Our committee hopes that you will once again get involved with your local show. We have been working hard organising throughout the year and are proud to bring you quality cattle, horse, woodchopping, pavilion exhibits and entertainment.
We welcome the Track Skills V8 Show, Full Tilt Horse Jousting and Oakfield Ranch Camel Racing. I encourage you to get involved in your Kiama Show by exhibiting, competing or spectating. I assure you there is something for YOU to do and enjoy at the 2015 Kiama Show.
