THERE will be something for everybody on Australia Day with events taking place throughout Kiama municipality.
Community groups, service clubs and Kiama Council will combine efforts.
In Kiama, the Kiama Rotary and council will host a barbecue from 7.30am-10am in Coronation Park.
Family activities including thong throwing and egg-and-spoon races will be held from 9.30am-noon.
Kiama's citizenship ceremony will take place at the Joyce Wheatley Community Centre in Hindmarsh Park from 11am.
At Kiama Downs, the Minnamurra Rotary Club and Kiama Downs Surf Life Saving Club will run a barbecue at Jones Beach from 7.30am-9.30am. Following the barbecue, the beach will become a family fun zone featuring sand modelling, treasure hunts and other activities.
In Gerringong, the Gerringong Sunrise Rotary Club, the Gerringong Lions Club and the Gerringong Surf Life Saving Club will present the municipality's major celebration.
A barbecue will take place from 7.30am-noon and band the Rusty Hinges will provide entertainment.
The council's Australia Day Ambassadors will make an address and the Special Olympics Dance Performance Group will provide entertainment.
Local publisher and author Richard Walsh will be the guest speaker.
In Jamberoo, the Jamberoo Rural Fire Service, Red Cross Jamberoo and the Jamberoo Public School P&C will host a barbecue at Reid Park 8.30am-noon.
