I AM disappointed with the article in the Kiama Independent (January 14) that depicts councillor Mark Way as being the champion for the Wi-Fi connection associated with the CCTV project.

Wi-Fi was always going to be part of the CCTV Kiama installation project.
It appears that a slight budget oversight by council staff failed to include the Wi-Fi capability and planned implementation that involves a very small percentage of the total cost.
The real champions are Gareth Ward MP and Ann Sudmalis MP, whose combined donations to the project amount to $200,000.
There were comments at the October meeting made by me that would indicate I was gobsmacked by the Question Without Notice from Cr Way regarding the Wi-Fi issue and those comments included that Wi-Fi was always on the agenda.
