To be opened on or about Anzac Day, the project has received the go-ahead from Kiama Council as well as some funding.
However, additional financial support is still needed.
"The rotunda project has the support of the Kiama and Jamberoo RSL as well as the CWA, the P&C, Red Cross, interdenominational churches, Scouts and other groups and, apart from its historical significance, is seen to be an asset for the community in providing a facility for use with events such as Carols by Candlelight, weddings, family gatherings and artistic performances," spokesman Ken Jeffrey said.
"The task now is to raise the $36,000 needed to finance the project, with grants being applied for and potential sponsors approached.
"The association still needs help from Jamberoo residents through contributing financially where possible and/or through volunteering to assist in the building and painting of the rotunda."
As part of the fund-raising effort, on Sunday, February 1, there will be a Grand Golf and Croquet Rotunda Benefit Day.
"The Jamberoo Golf Club and Croquet Club are making their facilities available at very reasonable rates to assist in the fund-raising project," Mr Jeffrey said.
"The golf will be a four-person ambrose event which caters for golfers of all standards, including beginners, while the Croquet Club will have members present who will be able to introduce the game to beginners.
"Besides being a fund-raising day for this very worthy cause, it is an opportunity for members of the Kiama and Jamberoo community to come together for a day of fun."
Cost for golf will be $30 per person and $25 per person for croquet, payable on the day, which will include a sausage sizzle at the golf club when the golf finishes about 12.30pm and light refreshments at the croquet club.
The golf will be a shotgun start at 8.30am and the croquet will start at 9.30am.
"We anticipate that beside individuals nominating to play, teams of four may be nominated from businesses, sporting bodies and other organisations in the community," Mr Jeffrey said.
"It is critical that you nominate prior to the events by registering at Elders Real Estate on 4236 0891."
They hope to have the final position determined soon, with plans to build in February, the finishing touches during March and the opening in April. A plaque will be erected saying:
"Erected in 2015 to Commemorate the Centenary of World War I,
"All we have of Freedom, All we Love and Know This,
"They Fought and Won for us a Hundred Years ago."
