Enrolment is on Monday, January 26, between 2pm-4pm and Tuesday, January 27, 2pm-3pm.

Fees for membership are a nominal $25 per annum and courses $10 for eight weeks.

Non-members may attend their Monday talks from 2pm-4pm including afternoon tea for a gold coin donation on three occasions, after which they will be required to become a member.

"This term our talks co-ordinator has secured the services of some very eminent speakers," publicity officer Gill Divers said.

"On February 2 is The Front Comes Home: Broken Soldiers of World War I, where our speaker examines the cases of veterans who returned psychologically damaged with a lack of appropriate ongoing treatment.

"February 9 is a visit from Bundanon Trust: Arthur and Yvonne Boyd's Extraordinary Gift of their Art Collection and on February 16 our topic is Talking About Elder Abuse (TEA); What is it, what are the signs?

"As well as the very popular courses on tai chi, mahjong and tap dancing, we will be repeating What's in the News, a lively debate on current events [referee included] and Armchair Theatre.

"For this term we are introducing new topics such as The Scandinavians, an Introduction to Philosophy, also The Marlboroughs, and Trails of Evidence [forensic science]."

The members' excursion for the first term of 2015 will be on March 9 to the Fleet Air Arm Museum, Nowra, with lunch at the Flight Deck Cafe, followed by a visit to Meroogal, a Sydney Living Museum historic home.

Transport will be by coach and there will be guided tours at both venues.
