Every February the king of short selling, Jim Chanos, assembles an exclusive band of scheming cynics in the Florida sunshine to discuss what is likely to fall apart in the year ahead. He's dubbed his little gathering "Bears in Hibernation", in part to acknowledge his desire to escape the biting cold north-east winter but also as an admission that his kind aren't universally welcome in public places.
