The last Canberran to win a national title was Nick Kyrgios, but coach Todd Larkham says it's far too early to tell whether Annerly Poulos will follow his footsteps after claiming the under-12 Australian championship at Melbourne Park on Sunday.

The 11-year-old third seed rallied to beat 11th seed Natasha Russell 4-6, 6-2, 6-2.
Poulos' coach Larkham, who also coaches Kyrgios, says she has the same take-no-prisoners style.
"She's a very aggressive player and hits the ball incredibly hard for an 11-year-old, even though she's not particularly big," Larkham said.
"We [ACT] haven't had anyone win a national title since Nick in the under-16s, so maybe that's a good sign.
"She'd be top 10 in the world in her age group, but whether she'll be a good top line player is crystal ball."
