SHELL Cove residents Terry and Jacqui Widdicombe have been eagerly anticipating the completion of the Shell Cove Marina since the development started.
"I've watched Shell Cove develop from virtually day one when the first display village went in," Mr Widdicombe said.
"Every morning I wake up to a different view and there is some real anticipation and excitement for when the first boat comes into the harbour.
"The marina was just talk for a long time but now that works have begun you can really see and realise that it is happening."
The Widdicombes bought land in Shallows Drive, Shell Cove, in 2012 but had long been visiting the area and Mr Widdicombe said it "just gets better and better".
"We've always liked Shell Cove because of its proximity to Killalea, the golf course and soon the marina.
"And we wanted to live somewhere in an affordable part of Shell Cove where we still had a view of what was going on.
"A lot of our neighbours have moved within Shell Cove itself just to get closer to the marina.
"We have always known and liked the community atmosphere in Shell Cove as well.
"Once you start spending money on land and a house people take pride in their properties and we have the type of neighbours you want ... and a real mix too."
