Athletes who finished in the top three progress to the regional championships to be held in Leeton in February, but others are expected to qualify on "next best" times as results from other zones filter through.
Against some tough competition from Lake Illawarra, Albion Park, Shoalhaven, St Georges Basin, and Milton-Ulladulla centres, Kiama athletes did the club proud in the way they competed.
Among Kiama's gold medal winners on the weekend were under-8 girls Ella-Mae North (70 metres), and Amelia Weatherlake (100m and 60m hurdles).
Imogen Harrison (under 9) and Georgia Richards (under 11) both held off a top-class field to win the long jump, Cassidy Morris took out the under-15 triple jump and Sienna Bell the under-10 discus.
Under-13 girl Maggie Page won double gold in the javelin and discus.
In the boys Taj Ford claimed the 800m and 1500m double, Thomas North jumped 1.43m to claim the under-13 high jump, Christian Page won the 10 boys discus, Tyrell Taione the 10 boys shot put, Dylan Egan the 11 boys long jump and in the under-8 boys hurdles there was a Kiama 1, 2, 3 finish with Reilly Caswell, Jordan Poole and Cooper Deegan claiming medals. Levi Randle (12 boys) and Fynn Cohen (13 boys) both claimed gold in the 1500m.
A big thanks to everyone who helped make the weekend a success.
Full results and a list of qualifiers will be posted on the Kiama club's website soon.
